Spanish Eggs

The poll on Best Spanish painter is now closed. Thanks for voting. The winner was Velazquez, with Dali' coming in a close second. Strangely no-one voted for Picasso, or perhaps they tried to but with both eyes on the same side of the face, couldn't quite hit 'enter'...
Diego Velazquez, court artist to Philip IV of Spain during the first half of the seventeenth century, specialized in portraits and paintings of everyday life, many including food. His unique baroque manner and subjects were the model for painters in the 19th and 20th century; many great painters, including some from our poll - Picasso and Dali' - recreated his works in their own dashing style. Do you think I can get some bacon with those eggs..?
